Susan and Isaiah’s session was a dream. They are two of the most kindhearted people I’ve ever met, and I feel so blessed to have been asked to capture their love story! We could not have asked for a better November night when we went to Walnut Woods Metro Park for their shoot. This is one of my absolute favorite parks, because of the tall pine trees that line the walking path. The trees look beautiful any time of the year- but the fall and winter are my favorite. If you are lucky enough to have a little bit of snowfall for your session- you won’t be disappointed!

Susan found me through Instagram and wanted to set up a couples session after doing long distance with Isaiah for a bit of time. The two of them were so cute together and could not stop smiling! I posed and prompted them, but these two did not need much guidance- they’re just so in love!

We started their session at the tall pines area in the back of the park. We scheduled their session for golden hour and the sun peeked between the trees perfectly! This is why I try to schedule all of my client’s sessions either right before sunset or right after sunrise. The sunlight is impeccable and does not compare to any other time of day. I use an app called Unscripted to help me predict the best time for golden hour lighting based on your photoshoot date. The sun does not set until 9:30 pm some nights during the summer months, making it the perfect time for an after-work week-day session.

Susan and Isaiah wore neutral colors, and I love the way the black, brown, denim, and ditsy floral pattern all came together! If you are unsure about the color palette for your session, you can’t go wrong with neutrals! These colors worked so well with the greens and tans in the park. I have a degree in Fashion Design from FIT (The Fashion Insitute of Technology) if you’re looking for assistance in coordinating your outfits. I would be beyond thrilled to lend a hand!
